I grew up in the desolate Panhandle of Texas, thinking I’d been born to the wrong family. How the hell did that happen? I was supposed to be SPECIAL, right? I left home the day after I graduated high school, on to bigger and better things. I lived in Dallas for 10 godforsaken years, then went back to the Panhandle and finally ended up in Austin. I’m currently married to my fifth and last husband, The Writer. I have two wonderful daughters, 28 and 17, and one adorable grandson, 2.

Oldmommy, I am so pleased to have found your ‘blob.’ How the heck have you survived five husbands? I’m still working on The First Husband, as I never cease to remind him. Mind you, he made it through the perfect storm of our son’s puberty and my menopause, happening at the same time, without cracking or having an affair with a younger woman, so I’m thinking he might be a keeper.
